PANEL – Probiotics and health effects – building the big picture

Christopher is principal scientist at UAS Labs. His responsibilities include clinical research and development, regulatory affairs and technical documentation related to UAS Labs’ suite of probiotic strains and product offerings. Before joining the company in 2015, he was senior scientist and product development leader at Micropharma, a Canadian biotechnology company focused on human health through the microbiome. Here, Christopher and his team built a preclinical and clinical data package around Lactobacillus reuteri NCIMB 30242 (LRC™), a probiotic developed and targeted for heart health applications. He received his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He has co-authored 42 peer-reviewed publications, as well as several granted patents, and has been the recipient of academic awards from institutions such as the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada and McGill University.
